द्विगुणेष्टहृतं रूपं श्रेष्टं प्राग्रूपकं परम् । वर्गयोगांतरे व्येके राश्योर्वर्गोस्त एतयोः ॥ ३३ ॥
dviguṇeṣṭahṛtaṃ rūpaṃ śreṣṭaṃ prāgrūpakaṃ param | vargayogāṃtare vyeke rāśyorvargosta etayoḥ || 33 ||
ઇષ્ટ રાશિથી ભાગ આપીને મળેલા રૂપને દ્વિગુણ કરવું—આને શ્રેષ્ઠ અને પરમ ‘પ્રાગ્રૂપક’ (પૂર્વરૂપ) કહેવાયું છે. વર્ગ-યોગ પદ્ધતિમાં કેટલાક કહે છે કે આ બે રાશિઓનો વર્ગફળ સંયુક્ત રીતે માનવો।
