FAQs

It gives a structural instruction for Purāṇic narration: to present the cosmogenic episode—Garuḍa’s origin from the Brahmāṇḍa—using the elevated archetype of the Hema-haṃsa, i.e., a symbolic, cosmological framing rather than a merely literal tale.

By indexing a specific cosmological module (Brahmāṇḍa-māhātmya) and linking it to a major divine figure’s genealogy (Garuḍa), it shows the text’s catalog-like method: creation theory, divine lineages, and narrative protocols are treated as organized knowledge-units.

Contemplation and recitation of Brahmāṇḍa-māhātmya-type cosmology is traditionally held to refine worldview (dṛṣṭi-śuddhi) by situating beings within sacred creation, fostering devotion and humility through awareness of cosmic order.
