Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Ritual purification using pañcagavya prepared/empowered with Vāsudeva-mantra and coordinated with five mūlamūrtis for sanctifying persons, vessels, or worship implements.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Vāsudeva-japa-siddha pañcagavya with pañca-mūlamūrti-sāhitya","lookup_keywords":["pañcagavya","Vāsudeva mantra","100 times","mūlamūrti","śuddhi"],"quick_summary":"Prepare pañcagavya in an auspicious vessel, repeatedly empowering it with Vāsudeva-mantra (100-fold), integrating the rite with the five root-manifestations to produce a potent purificatory medium."}

Concept: Substances become ‘siddha’ (ritually efficacious) through mantra-saṃskāra; purity is produced by repeated intentional consecration, not merely by material composition.

Application: Standardize purification: use a dedicated śubha-pātra, fixed repetition count, and deity-form alignment (pañca-mūrti framework) to ensure ritual consistency.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Vaishnava/Tantric ritual procedure)

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Sandhi Resolution Notes: पण्जगव्यन्तु पाठे ‘पण्ज’ → ‘पञ्च’ (सामान्यपाठ); पञ्चभिर्मूलमूर्तिभिः = पञ्चभिः + मूलमूर्तिभिः.

FAQs

It prescribes a mantra-consecrated preparation of pañcagavya: the sādhaka prepares it in a clean/auspicious vessel, repeating the Vāsudeva-mantra one hundred times and invoking the five mūlamūrtis as part of the sanctification.

It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s practical ritual manual style—detailing exact counts (100 repetitions), materials (pañcagavya), and theological-ritual frameworks (Vāsudeva and fivefold divine forms), integrating liturgy, purity science, and sectarian worship procedure.

Pañcagavya, when prepared and empowered by mantra, functions as a purifier for rites—supporting inner and outer śuddhi (purity), removing ritual impediments, and increasing the efficacy (siddhi-pravṛtti) of Vāsudeva-centered worship.
