Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) narrating to the sages (deduced)
Tirtha: Sāgara-gāminī Nadī-tīrtha (generic river-to-sea tīrtha)
Type: river
Scene: A family with a priest on a riverbank offering piṇḍa and tila-water; the river flows toward the distant ocean; calm, reverent atmosphere; offerings arranged on darbha grass.
Ancestral duty (pitṛ-ṛṇa) is fulfilled through śrāddha, and tīrthas amplify its merit.
River tīrthas in general—especially rivers that culminate in the ocean—are praised as powerful venues for śrāddha.
Perform śrāddha (at minimum at home), with a stronger recommendation to do it at a sacred river for multiplied fruit.
