यस्मादर्घ्यं पुरा दत्त्वा पश्चा दीशः प्रतिष्ठितः । तेनार्घ्येशेति विख्यातं लिंगं पापप्रणाशनम्

Transliteration

yasmādarghyaṃ purā dattvā paścā dīśaḥ pratiṣṭhitaḥ | tenārghyeśeti vikhyātaṃ liṃgaṃ pāpapraṇāśanam

Translation

Parce qu’autrefois l’arghya fut offert d’abord, et qu’ensuite seulement le Seigneur fut établi, ce liṅga devint célèbre sous le nom d’Arghyeśa, destructeur des péchés.
