एवमुक्तो गिरिः प्राह अनिच्छंतीं महाबलात् । उद्वाहयिष्ये त्वां भद्रे कस्त्राता स्ति तवाधुना

evamukto giriḥ prāha anicchaṃtīṃ mahābalāt | udvāhayiṣye tvāṃ bhadre kastrātā sti tavādhunā

Ainsi interpellée, la Montagne dit —bien qu’elle n’y consentît pas— par la force de sa grande puissance : «Ô noble dame, je te prendrai pour épouse. Qui donc te protégera à présent ?»
