तस्माद्गर्वो नैव कार्यो गर्वस्यैतत्फलं स्मृतम् । शृणुष्वानुग्रहं बाले श्रुत्वा चैवावधारय

Transliteration

tasmādgarvo naiva kāryo garvasyaitatphalaṃ smṛtam | śṛṇuṣvānugrahaṃ bāle śrutvā caivāvadhāraya

Translation

«C’est pourquoi l’orgueil ne doit jamais être cultivé : tel est le fruit de l’orgueil, ainsi s’en souvient-on. Maintenant, écoute, enfant, la grâce que je vais accorder ; l’ayant entendue, garde-la fermement en ton cœur.»
