दिवसस्याष्टमे भागे मन्दीभूते दिवाकरे । आसुरं तद्भवेच्छ्राद्धं पितृणां नोपतिष्ठते

divasasyāṣṭame bhāge mandībhūte divākare | āsuraṃ tadbhavecchrāddhaṃ pitṛṇāṃ nopatiṣṭhate

Si le Śrāddha est accompli lorsque le jour a atteint sa huitième part et que le soleil s’est affaibli, ce Śrāddha devient de nature « āsura » et ne parvient pas aux Pitṛs.
