पुराणमेकमेवासीत्तस्मिन्कल्पान्तरेतथा । त्रिवर्गसाधनं पुण्यं शतकोटिप्रविस्तरम्
purāṇamekamevāsīttasminkalpāntaretathā | trivargasādhanaṃ puṇyaṃ śatakoṭipravistaram
En ce cycle d’âge ancien, le Purāṇa n’était véritablement qu’un seul. Il était saint, moyen d’accomplir les trois buts de la vie, et d’une ampleur immense—s’étendant jusqu’à cent koṭi (de vers/mesure).
