Īśvara (Śiva) (deduced from immediate narrative context in Prabhāsakṣetra Māhātmya dialogues addressing Devī as 'mahādevi')
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Śiva addresses Pārvatī, proclaiming that the pilgrim’s acts at Prabhāsa grant the fruit of human birth and merit equal to Rājasūya and Aśvamedha; behind them, a luminous tīrtha landscape with shrine and ritual fires symbolically echoing grand yajñas.
A single act of prescribed devotion at Prabhāsakṣetra can yield extraordinary puṇya, fulfilling the purpose of human birth.
Prabhāsakṣetra (Prabhāsa), celebrated in the Prabhāsa Khaṇḍa’s Prabhāsakṣetra Māhātmya.
The verse refers generally to “doing thus” (evaṃ kṛtvā), i.e., the rite described in the surrounding passage, and states its result as equal to great Vedic sacrifices.
