एवं वृद्धत्वमापन्ना यदा ते वरवर्णिनि । छन्द्यमाना वरैस्ते तु शंकरेण महात्मना

evaṃ vṛddhatvamāpannā yadā te varavarṇini | chandyamānā varaiste tu śaṃkareṇa mahātmanā

Ô dame au teint gracieux, lorsque ces sages furent ainsi parvenus à la vieillesse, le magnanime Śaṅkara leur proposa des grâces, les invitant à choisir ce qu’ils désiraient.
