haṃsaḥ śuciṣaditi maṃtreṇānena pūjayet | apatyeteti mantreṇa sūryaṃ devi prapūjayet
Par le mantra qui commence « haṃsaḥ śuciṣat… », qu’on accomplisse l’adoration. Et par le mantra qui commence « apatyete… », ô Déesse, qu’on vénère Sūrya avec une révérence particulière.
Skanda (deduced from Prabhāsakṣetra-māhātmya instructional tone)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī addressed as “devī”
Scene: At dawn in Prabhāsa, the devotee faces the rising sun, offering arghya from a copper vessel while reciting Vedic mantras; Sūrya’s disk is depicted with rays and attendant deities, while the sea/river glints behind.
Pure, mantra-guided worship refines devotion and makes one’s offering to Sūrya spiritually effective.
Prabhāsakṣetra (Prabhāsa), praised in the Prabhāsakṣetra-māhātmya section of the Skanda Purāṇa.
Pūjā of Sūrya using specific Vedic mantra-openings (“haṃsaḥ śuciṣat…”, “apatyete…”).
