सावित्र्युवाच । सकृज्जल्पंति राजानः सकृज्जल्पंति ब्राह्मणाः । सकृत्कन्या प्रदीयेत त्रीण्येतानि सकृत्सकृत्
sāvitryuvāca | sakṛjjalpaṃti rājānaḥ sakṛjjalpaṃti brāhmaṇāḥ | sakṛtkanyā pradīyeta trīṇyetāni sakṛtsakṛt
Sāvitrī dit : «Les rois ne donnent leur parole qu’une seule fois ; les brahmanes ne parlent qu’une seule fois. Une jeune fille n’est donnée en mariage qu’une seule fois : ces trois choses sont “une fois, et une fois seulement”.»
