Ṛṣis (sages) (as quoted within Śiva’s narration)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: Close-up of sages with folded hands, gaunt bodies, pleading to the householder; the emotional center is their vulnerability and the moral appeal to the ‘great-minded’ one.
Anna-dāna is portrayed as immediate protection of life; compassion is dharma in action.
The episode supports the Māhātmya leading to Akṣamāleśvara/Ugraseneśvara in Prabhāsa-kṣetra.
Giving food (anna-dāna) as a saving, meritorious act.
