शिवरात्रौ वसेद्यस्तु लिंगे सिद्धेशसंज्ञिते । स्नात्वा ऋषिकृते तीर्थे किं तस्यान्येन वै द्विजाः । गत्वा तत्र महाभागा गृहीत्वा फलमुत्तमम्
śivarātrau vasedyastu liṃge siddheśasaṃjñite | snātvā ṛṣikṛte tīrthe kiṃ tasyānyena vai dvijāḥ | gatvā tatra mahābhāgā gṛhītvā phalamuttamam
Celui qui, la nuit de Śivarātri, veille en ce lieu auprès du liṅga nommé Siddheśa et se baigne au tīrtha établi par les ṛṣi—de quel autre acte sacré aurait-il besoin, ô brāhmanes ? En s’y rendant, ô bienheureux, il obtient la récompense suprême.
