एवं प्रददतस्तस्य यजतश्च तथा मखैः । ययौ कालो द्विजश्रेष्ठा भोगांश्चैवानुभुञ्जतः

evaṃ pradadatastasya yajataśca tathā makhaiḥ | yayau kālo dvijaśreṣṭhā bhogāṃścaivānubhuñjataḥ

Ô meilleur des brahmanes, alors qu'il continuait ainsi à donner et à accomplir des sacrifices, le temps passa, tandis qu'il jouissait aussi de ses plaisirs légitimes.
