ममापि दर्शनादन्यन्न किंचिद्विद्यते गुरु । कृत्यं लक्ष्मण यावत्त्वमन्यन्मूढ़ प्रकत्थसे
mamāpi darśanādanyanna kiṃcidvidyate guru | kṛtyaṃ lakṣmaṇa yāvattvamanyanmūḍha़ prakatthase
«Pour moi aussi, rien n’est plus important que de le rencontrer, ô vénérable. Lakṣmaṇa, tant que, dans ton égarement, tu te vantes d’autres choses, dis-moi ce qu’il faut faire.»
