Transliteration

evaṃ varṣasahasrāṃte bhramatastasyabhūtalam | viprasya pakṣināthasya varārthāya drijottamāḥ

Translation

Ainsi, après mille ans d’errance sur la terre à la recherche d’un époux, le meilleur des brāhmanes poursuivit sa quête, porté par le seigneur des oiseaux.
