एष यज्ञोपवीताढ्यो विशेषात्तपसि स्थितः । छलेन निहतः शक्र तेन त्वं पापसंयुतः
eṣa yajñopavītāḍhyo viśeṣāttapasi sthitaḥ | chalena nihataḥ śakra tena tvaṃ pāpasaṃyutaḥ
«Mais celui-ci portait le yajnopavīta, le cordon sacré, et demeurait tout particulièrement établi dans l’austérité. Il fut tué par ruse, ô Śakra ; c’est pourquoi tu es désormais chargé de péché.»
