Sages (Munis)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Dakṣa
Scene: Sages with lowered heads confessing their pride and repeated mockery during a sacrifice, with Indra implied as the one who summoned them; atmosphere of shame and sincerity.
Pride corrupts even religious intention; humility is essential for yajña and for preserving harmony with the devas.
No particular tīrtha is named in this verse; it is part of a broader Tīrthamāhātmya narrative setting.
The verse is confessional rather than prescriptive; it implies the need for proper conduct and humility during sacrifice.
