Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 5

यथा मया द्विजत्वं हि स्वयमेवार्जितं बलात् । तथा सृष्टिं करिष्यामि स्वकीयां नात्र संशयः

yathā mayā dvijatvaṃ hi svayamevārjitaṃ balāt | tathā sṛṣṭiṃ kariṣyāmi svakīyāṃ nātra saṃśayaḥ

De même que moi-même, par la seule puissance de l’austérité (tapas), j’ai obtenu l’état de « deux-fois-né », de même je produirai une création qui m’appartient—là-dessus, nul doute.
