Type: kshetra
Listener: Bhīṣma (addressed as mahābhāga)
Scene: Brāhmaṇas specify Śiva’s special days: Caitra śukla Aṣṭamī and Caturdaśī; a Śiva shrine with liṅga, bilva leaves, and lamps suggests night worship; the tone is affectionate and assured.
Devotion is strengthened by observing Śiva’s worship on auspicious tithis, expressing loyalty and reverence through disciplined timing.
The statement belongs to the ongoing tīrtha narrative in Nāgara Khaṇḍa; the place is the setting where these Śiva-related observances are to be performed.
Special emphasis on Śiva worship during Caitra bright-fortnight Aṣṭamī and also on Caturdaśī (commonly associated with Śiva observances).
