श्रीमार्कंडेय उवाच । आक्षिप्तस्ताडितो वापि यमुद्दिश्य त्यजेदसून् । स्त्रीजनो वा द्विजो वापि तस्य पापं तु तद्भवेत्
śrīmārkaṃḍeya uvāca | ākṣiptastāḍito vāpi yamuddiśya tyajedasūn | strījano vā dvijo vāpi tasya pāpaṃ tu tadbhavet
Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya dit : «Même insulté ou frappé, si quelqu’un —femme ou brāhmaṇa— quitte la vie en ayant l’agresseur en pensée, alors le péché de cette mort retombe sur celui qui l’a provoquée.»
