Même dans la lignée de ce dévot, il n’y aura ni crainte des serpents ni faute; ni maladie ni affliction, et nulle part la peur des esprits.
Sūta (contextual)
Scene: A pilgrim family at a sacred water-edge; subtle presence of hooded Nāgas as guardians; the atmosphere conveys protection from disease, sin, and spirit-fear.
Devotional acts at a sanctified time and place radiate protective merit, safeguarding not only the worshipper but the lineage.
The promised protections are tied to the Nāga worship performed in the sanctified kṣetra described in this chapter (Cāmatkārapura).
The verse is a result-statement (phalaśruti) of the Śrāvaṇa Pañcamī Nāga-pūjā described immediately before.
