तत्र पूर्वं तपस्तप्तं मातुः शापप्रपीडितैः । शेष प्रभृतिनागैस्तु मुक्तिहेतोर्हुताशनात्

tatra pūrvaṃ tapastaptaṃ mātuḥ śāpaprapīḍitaiḥ | śeṣa prabhṛtināgaistu muktihetorhutāśanāt

Là, jadis, les Nāgas conduits par Śeṣa, accablés par la malédiction de leur mère, pratiquèrent l’ascèse; en quête de la délivrance, ils prirent le Feu sacré (Hutāśana/Agni) pour moyen consacré.
