Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 71

FAQs

Śiva’s presence is honored through tangible service (upacāra), and timely observances—aligned with sacred solar transitions—intensify the merit of devotion.

Camatkārapura is explicitly mentioned as the place where an auspicious liṅga was installed and worshipped.

Covering/adorning Śiva-liṅgas with ghṛta (clarified butter), particularly when the Sun is in Makara (around Makara-saṅkrānti).
