अनेन प्रार्थिता कन्या मया चास्मै प्रदीयते । तत्किं निषेधयसि मां दीयमानां सुतामिमाम्

anena prārthitā kanyā mayā cāsmai pradīyate | tatkiṃ niṣedhayasi māṃ dīyamānāṃ sutāmimām

« Cet homme a demandé la jeune fille, et je lui donne ma fille. Pourquoi donc m'interdis-tu de donner cette fille qui est offerte ? »
