Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 8
यथा सर्वेषु वर्णेषु विप्रो मुख्यतमो भवेत् । मध्ये सर्वतरूणां च ब्रह्मवृक्षो महोत्तमः
yathā sarveṣu varṇeṣu vipro mukhyatamo bhavet | madhye sarvatarūṇāṃ ca brahmavṛkṣo mahottamaḥ
De même que, parmi tous les varṇa, le brāhmaṇa est tenu pour le premier, ainsi, parmi tous les arbres, l’Arbre de Brahmā (Brahma-vṛkṣa) est le plus excellent et le plus sublime.
