Transliteration

na dadau sa tadā vipraḥ sāmnā dānena vā punaḥ | bhedena ca tato daṇḍaṃ yojayāmāsa vai nṛpaḥ

Translation

Alors le brāhmane ne la remit, ni par conciliation ni par présents. Aussi le roi, recourant à la contrainte, entreprit d’infliger le châtiment.
