Unspecified (narrative voice within Nāgarakhaṇḍa, Tīrthamāhātmya)
Type: tirtha
Scene: Lakṣmaṇa (Saumitri) completes a sacred bath at the ford; nearby stands a tranquil hermitage with Mārkaṇḍeya seated under a tree. In a second narrative beat, Rāma arrives swiftly, bow in hand, reverent and composed.
Purification is attained through faithful observance at a sanctified tīrtha, and the company of sages (ṛṣi-āśrama) strengthens dharma.
The Indra-frequented tīrtha (śakra-sevita) and the revered āśrama of Ṛṣi Mārkaṇḍeya are highlighted as spiritually efficacious locations.
Tīrtha-snāna (holy bathing) is explicitly performed and presented as the means of becoming viśuddha (purified).
