विश्वामित्र उवाच । तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा चिन्तयामास चेतसि । ब्राह्मणोऽयं सुदेशीयस्तथा भव्यतमाकृतिः । यदि गृह्णाति मे कन्यां तदस्मै प्रददाम्यहम्

viśvāmitra uvāca | tasya tadvacanaṃ śrutvā cintayāmāsa cetasi | brāhmaṇo'yaṃ sudeśīyastathā bhavyatamākṛtiḥ | yadi gṛhṇāti me kanyāṃ tadasmai pradadāmyaham

Viśvāmitra dit : Ayant entendu ses paroles, je méditai en mon cœur : « Cet homme est un brāhmaṇa, venu d’un pays благоприятный, et son aspect est d’un augure très heureux. S’il accepte ma fille, alors je la lui donnerai. »
