Type: kshetra
Listener: Śakra (Indra)
Scene: Brahmā at a sacrificial enclosure (vedi) speaks to Indra with urgency; priests, fire-altars, and the suspended ‘auspicious moment’ are implied; the narrative tension is the need for a suitable wife/consort to proceed.
When dharma is endangered by delay, the presiding authority may act decisively to ensure the yajña is completed, prioritizing the continuity of sacred order.
This verse is part of a Tīrthamāhātmya chapter but does not itself name or praise a particular tīrtha.
A procedural resolution: Brahmā declares the yajña should proceed with the wife who is present, despite Sāvitrī’s absence.
