यत्त्वं शंससि चाऽस्माकं खेचरत्वं महीपते । व्यर्थं तदपि न श्रेयः शृणु तत्रापि कारणम्

yattvaṃ śaṃsasi cā'smākaṃ khecaratvaṃ mahīpate | vyarthaṃ tadapi na śreyaḥ śṛṇu tatrāpi kāraṇam

Et quant à ce que tu loues en nous—cette nature de « parcourir le ciel », ô seigneur de la terre—même cela est vain et n’est pas un vrai bien. Écoute-en aussi la raison.
