अहमासं पुरा कन्या पुरे कुसुमसंज्ञिते । वीरसेनस्य शूद्रस्य वणिक्पुत्रस्य धीमतः । तेन दत्ताऽस्मि धर्मेण विवाहार्थं महात्मना
ahamāsaṃ purā kanyā pure kusumasaṃjñite | vīrasenasya śūdrasya vaṇikputrasya dhīmataḥ | tena dattā'smi dharmeṇa vivāhārthaṃ mahātmanā
«Autrefois, j’étais une jeune fille dans une cité nommée Kusuma. À Vīrasena, le sage—issu d’une lignée de marchands et de condition śūdra—ce grand homme me donna en mariage selon le dharma.»
