Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahābhāga (current addressee within the narrative frame)
Scene: A group of brāhmaṇas addresses a noble listener, recounting how Mārkaṇḍeya taught Rohitāśva; the scene shows a teaching assembly—palm-leaf manuscripts, seated sages, attentive listener—emphasizing lineage and instruction.
Dharma is strengthened through lineage of instruction—what sages taught before remains valid for sincere seekers now.
This verse emphasizes tradition and authority (who taught whom), not a specific geographic tirtha.
An exhortation to perform the same Saptamī-related observance as taught by Mārkaṇḍa.
