चित्रांगद उवाच । तव तातः स कालेन मां दहिष्यति मानदे । कामानलः पुनः सद्य एष भस्म करिष्यति
citrāṃgada uvāca | tava tātaḥ sa kālena māṃ dahiṣyati mānade | kāmānalaḥ punaḥ sadya eṣa bhasma kariṣyati
Citrāṅgada dit : «Ton père pourra me brûler en son temps, ô dame honorée ; mais ce feu du désir, dès maintenant, me réduira en cendres».
Citrāṅgada (Gandharva)
Listener: the maiden (addressed as mānade)
Scene: Citrāṅgada speaks with fierce immediacy, one hand gripping his chest as if scorched, the other reaching forward; background shows cool moonlight vs inner flame motif to heighten contrast.
Desire is depicted as immediate and consuming; Purāṇic dharma teaches that such impulses must be mastered rather than rationalized.
