एतस्मिन्नंतरे देवाः सर्वे चिंतासमाकुलाः । किमिदं क्षीयते लोको जलस्थैः स्थलजैः सह
etasminnaṃtare devāḥ sarve ciṃtāsamākulāḥ | kimidaṃ kṣīyate loko jalasthaiḥ sthalajaiḥ saha
«Cependant, tous les dieux, accablés de souci (cintā), se demandaient : “Pourquoi le monde s’épuise-t-il ainsi, avec les êtres des eaux et ceux de la terre ?”»
