Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 66

एवमुक्त्वाथ ते विप्रास्तीर्थयात्रां ततो ययुः । सोऽपि तत्रैव चौरस्तु स्थितो जपपरायणः

evamuktvātha te viprāstīrthayātrāṃ tato yayuḥ | so'pi tatraiva caurastu sthito japaparāyaṇaḥ

Après avoir ainsi parlé, ces brāhmanes partirent en pèlerinage vers les tīrtha sacrés. Mais le voleur demeura sur place, entièrement voué à la répétition du mantra (japa).
