Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 49

एतस्मिन्नंतरे जातः पुरे तत्र सुदारुणः । आक्रंदो ब्राह्मणेंद्राणां सर्पभक्षणसंभवः

etasminnaṃtare jātaḥ pure tatra sudāruṇaḥ | ākraṃdo brāhmaṇeṃdrāṇāṃ sarpabhakṣaṇasaṃbhavaḥ

Cependant, dans cette cité s’éleva, parmi les plus éminents brāhmaṇas, une clameur de pleurs des plus terribles, née de la dévoration des hommes par les serpents.
