Vahni (Agni)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇāḥ / ritual agents; indirectly the king
Scene: A benedictory proclamation: the king envisioned radiant and healthy, enemies subdued, children beside him; the glow of a completed śānti rite emanates from the altar.
Śānti rites, when performed correctly, restore harmony—manifesting as health, security, and prosperity for ruler and realm.
The verse emphasizes ritual fruit (phala) within a tīrtha-māhātmya chapter, rather than naming a particular site.
A śāntika rite (pacificatory ritual), linked with homa and Agni, promised to yield health, victory over enemies, and prosperity.
