Transliteration

tataste śarmasaṃyuktāḥ sarva eva dvijottamāḥ | cakrustapaḥkriyāṃ sarve duṣkarāṃ sarvajantubhiḥ

Translation

Alors, ces brāhmanes éminents, remplis de ferme résolution et d’une foi de bon augure, entreprirent tous la pratique des austérités, observance difficile à accomplir pour tout être vivant.
