अथ सीता परित्यक्ता तथा भ्राता स लक्ष्मणः । यदर्थं तत्र संप्राप्तः स्वयमेव द्विजोत्तमाः
atha sītā parityaktā tathā bhrātā sa lakṣmaṇaḥ | yadarthaṃ tatra saṃprāptaḥ svayameva dvijottamāḥ
«Ainsi Sītā a été renvoyée, et mon frère Lakṣmaṇa de même. C’est pour cette raison même que je suis venu ici de moi-même, ô meilleur des deux-fois-nés.»
