bhāryārthaṃ pratigṛhṇīṣvamaṃtreṇānena dattavān | asmai rudrāya mahate devadavāya śaṃbhava | kanyā dattā maheśāya girīṃdreṇa mahātmanā
Par ce mantra, il la donna en disant : «Reçois-la pour épouse—offerte à ce grand Rudra, à Śambhu, le Dieu des dieux.» Ainsi la jeune fille fut donnée à Maheśa par le magnanime seigneur des montagnes.
