Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 49
महेन्द्र मुद्दिश्य तदा ह्युपहाससमन्वितः । अक्षमाश्च वयं सर्वे महेन्द्रेण कृताः सुराः
mahendra muddiśya tadā hyupahāsasamanvitaḥ | akṣamāśca vayaṃ sarve mahendreṇa kṛtāḥ surāḥ
Puis, tournant son regard vers Mahendra (Indra) avec une douce pointe de raillerie, il dit : « Nous tous, les dieux, avons été rendus impuissants—par Mahendra. »
