Dharmarāja (Yama) addressing the kitava (gambler), with Citragupta referenced
Tirtha: Kedāra-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Pilgrim-audience (implied)
Scene: Citragupta, the celestial scribe, reads from a ledger while subtle imagery shows the fallen offerings being re-dedicated to Śiva at the man’s death; Śiva as Paramātman is implied as the ultimate recipient.
A final act of dedication to Śiva, even involving something ‘fallen’ or small, is remembered in the moral record and yields spiritual merit.
Kedāra-kṣetra as presented in Kedārakhaṇḍa, emphasizing Śiva’s grace in that sacred context.
Dedicating an offering to Śiva (śivāya) as a conscious act, even at life’s end.
