हे बटो पंडितो भूत्वा यदुक्तं वचनं पुरा । शिशुत्वात्तन्न जानासि श्रुत्वा मन्ये यथार्थतः

he baṭo paṃḍito bhūtvā yaduktaṃ vacanaṃ purā | śiśutvāttanna jānāsi śrutvā manye yathārthataḥ

«Ô garçon! Bien que tu sois devenu savant, tu répètes des paroles prononcées jadis; mais parce que tu es encore enfant, tu ne les saisis pas vraiment—t’ayant entendu, j’en comprends ainsi le sens véritable.»
