तदस्याः किमहं दद्मि रवेर्दीपमिवाल्पकः । संचिंत्येति महादेव्या नाशिषं दत्तवानहम्
tadasyāḥ kimahaṃ dadmi raverdīpamivālpakaḥ | saṃciṃtyeti mahādevyā nāśiṣaṃ dattavānaham
«Que pourrais-je donc lui donner—comme une petite lampe offerte au soleil ?» Pensant ainsi, je ne donnai aucune « bénédiction » à la Grande Déesse.
