Skanda
Tirtha: Pādodaka-tīrtha
Type: ghat
Scene: A devotee completes the triad: bathing at the ford, sipping the sacred water, then offering it respectfully; in the background, a dark ‘naraka’ motif recedes, unable to approach.
Purification is intensified when devotion includes personal practice (bathing, drinking) and charity (sharing sacred water), leading to protection from severe post-mortem suffering.
Pādodaka-tīrtha in Kāśī.
Snāna at Pādodaka, drinking pādodaka, and giving pādodaka as pānīya (a sacred drink/charitable offering).
