Tirtha: Dharmeśa (within Kāśī)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Primary audience of the Purāṇa (traditional: sages/śaunaka-style assembly); immediate scene: Śaṅkara addressing Dharmarāja
Scene: In Kāśī’s sacred ambience, Śaṅkara addresses Dharmarāja with assurance, inviting him to ask again; the moment is intimate—boon-bestowal framed as compassionate dialogue.
In Kāśī, Śiva’s grace is portrayed as unrestricted—devotees need only sincerely articulate their prayer.
Kāśī (Vārāṇasī) is implied as the sacred setting where divine generosity and liberation-bestowing grace are foremost.
No specific rite is prescribed; the verse emphasizes prayerful utterance—clearly stating one’s boon-request.
