Śiva (Pinākin)
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Śiva as Pinākin responds to devotees with a calm gesture of assent; a subtle radiance emanates toward their foreheads/hearts symbolizing the arising of jñāna; Kāśī’s sanctum and lamps frame the moment of grace.
Śiva’s grace in Kāśī includes not only protection and presence, but also the gift of liberating knowledge.
Kāśī, as the setting where Śiva readily grants boons culminating in jñāna conducive to mokṣa.
No specific rite; the verse records Śiva’s boon of jñāna.
